Banana Street News
***We’re all online until further notice. I’ve been so pleased about how well my group and private students have been progressing in this current virtual environment!
-GROUP VOICE! We’ve had a wonderful time in our online adult group voice class! We keep it small so we can maintain an intimate setting. Learn the basics of singing: breathing, posture, singing a vocal line, working with text, singing together, and way more! Let’s start another group!
-NEW PROGRAM- I’ve had great fun creating a new offering here at Banana Street Voice Studio called PianoVoice. I started it so that beginners and younger singers (6 and up) can enrich their natural singing talents while simultaneously learning some basic keyboard and music theory skills. It’s been a popular program, so I’ve decided to keep it going! I still have a few spaces left, so get in touch for more info!
-I have a few spaces remaining for private voice lessons. I encourage private vocal study at Banana Street to start at ages 11 and up. Contact me if you’re interested or have any questions!
-Also, check out Banana Street Voice Studio’s Facebook page! Friend us and like us so that you can stay tuned in to what’s going on at Banana Street!
Approaching vocal study from a place of curiosity and play improves practice and performance, all while facilitating the learning process for concepts directly related to healthy, satisfying singing. Singing is storytelling, and the journey of finding confidence in one’s expression through solid vocal technique (and in some cases identifying helpful technique through expression) is one of the most amazing processes there is! At one point in my own training, I participated in a singing program which completely changed my outlook on personal discovery, creativity, and and my relationship with communicating through performance. Since then, I’ve delved into a unique process of learning with vocal pedagogues, breathing specialists, Alexander Technique teachers, dancers, and yogis in order to assimilate singing technique with exploration, full body coordination, and mind-body connection. I’ve had so many wonderful, influential teachers and mentors – as well as a musically enriching upbringing – and one of my greatest joys is continuing to learn and grow along with my students in the safe, creative environment that I’ve created at Banana Street Voice Studio.
I am a member of NATS, National Association of Teachers of Singing, and look forward to continually providing performance opportunities for my students in addition to well-rounded vocal instruction.
